Cape Town Hotel Award Winner

The Winchester Mansions has just been awarded, as the only South African winner, the Budget Travel magazine and Trip Advisor 100 Best Values 2008. The winners were determined by a combination of the highest traveller ratings and the TripAdvisor Popularity Index, a measurement of overall traveller satisfaction.

This is accolade indeed and well deserved.

I stayed at the hotel in Oct 2006 and was impressed with it’s location and service. I had a beautiful suite overlooking the ocean – there is a busy road between the hotel and the promenade, but this wasn’t a problem.

The hotel bar is a lively place and is full with hotel guests and locals – this is always a good sign when locals choose to visit. The hotel offers a jazz breakfast, which has proved extremely popular and now has to be booked in advance.

The Winchester Mansions  is about a 20 minute walk to the Waterfront along the sea wall, which is very pleasant.

I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who has a few nights in Cape Town.
