Mozambique - off the beaten track
Mozambique, is the latest up & coming destination for those looking for space, relaxation & a non commercial, non touristy holiday.
Southern Mozambique is home to the Bazuruto Archipelago - a collection of remote, unspoilt islands. This area really is off the beaten track and if you are looking for fantastic beaches, clear blue sea and relaxation then Mozambique could be the place for you.
Accommodation varies from Eco retreats, such as Guludo Lodge - this is tents on the beach, very rustic and great for scuba diving! - to 5 * resorts, such as Indigo Bay - wonderful for honeymooners. Ibo Island is steeped in history, guests stay in old Portuguese house which has been renovated to a very high standard.
Many people think that Mozambique is inaccessible & hard to reach, but LAM airlines fly directly from Nairobi to Pemba twice a week, making it a great add on to any Kenya or Tanzania Safari and South Africa Airways fly from Johannesburg into Southern or Northern Mozambique.
